Renewal Guide
SSL Certificate Renewal Assistance
How We Can Assist You:
Renewing my SSL Certificate If your SSL certificate doesn’t automatically renew, you have a 90-day timeframe to acquire a renewal credit and apply it to the certificate. This window spans from 60 days before the expiration date to 30 days after.
Note: In the case of auto-renewal, we initiate the renewal process 60 days prior to the certificate’s expiration date. This allows ample time for the verification process. Verification is crucial before the certificate expires to avoid potential disruptions to your website and business. Even though you’re renewing in advance, the renewal period starts immediately after your current subscription concludes, ensuring uninterrupted service.
Warning: Failing to complete the renewal by the expiration date will result in an error message on your website, rendering it inaccessible to visitors.
If you’re using a Domain Validation (DV) certificate with the primary domain for your account and have set it to auto-renew, no additional action is required on your part. The SSL certificate renewal process is fully automated.
For all other certificates, including those for add-on domains, follow these steps:
- Visit your CCD product page on Cheap-Domain Registration.com.
- Choose SSL Certificates and take one of the following actions for the certificate you wish to renew:
- If the billing for your renewal is already finalized, proceed to the next step.
- If you don’t have auto-renew, click on “Renew now” (for auto-renew, select “Renew now”).
- Select the specific certificate for renewal, click “Continue to Cart,” and complete the transaction for your renewal.
If this was your primary domain and your site is hosted with us, your part is done! We will handle the installation of your renewed certificate. However, if your site is hosted with a third party or if this is for an add-on domain, it is your responsibility to install the renewed certificate.
